Overview

Overview:

We’re a hybrid social enterprise changing the way low-moderate income communities access financial services one neighborhood at a time.

Through small business training and community based cooperative investing we are proving that under-resourced communities around the country can self direct the development of their neighborhoods.

We have a pretty simple approach to finance; we believe that people care more about the things they own. Using crowdfunding, we invest along side our community in the businesses that we work with. You can do good through helping fund a local entrepreneurs dream, and well, through the return on your investment.

Every quarter we host a cohort of at least 10 entrepreneurs and provide hands on technical assistance and consulting through panel style conversations and workshops with members of the village, partner organizations, local city officials and business leaders dedicated to helping participants build stronger businesses in their communities.

Spud’s Thoughts:

I found out about this group through my work with the Sullivan Foundation which does a lot of work in the american southeast. I’m always inspired by orgs that are created to primarily crowdfund support for innovators in their community and build a local base of investors / supporters. Next time I’m down in Atlanta, I’ll have to drop in to say hi to them.
