Overview:
Roadtrip Nation is dedicated to creating experiences and learning opportunities for individuals to discover their path in life. They started by, and continue, offering roadtrip experiences where young people are given an RV and a film crew to go out and interview inspiring individuals who have created their own path in life. For 15 years, they’ve made it their mission to talk with professionals of every kind and ask the questions that no one is asking—honest questions about their struggles, successes, and how they figured out the age-old dilemma, “What should I do with my life?” Many of their feature documentaries and TV series are available online or through PBS.
From video game designers to lawyers, sports journalists to STEM professionals, and everything in between, we’ve sought out untold stories and shared them. Their site has a massive collection of interviews that are a great resource to poke around on. These stories form the basis of their career exploration products—including an educational curriculum, personalized online tools, video content, bestselling books, and live events. Together, these tools create a diverse and relevant collection of resources showing young people the vast scope of careers and possibilities.

Spud’s Thoughts:
This is easily one of my favorite organizations out there!! Back in 2012, I organized a month-long roadtrip across the US with a few friends of mine who were all interested in exploring the field of alternative education. We met with countless incredible educators and thought-leaders and filmed our interviews with them. It was life-changing! Since then, I’ve encouraged many other young people to do similar roadtrips. The great thing about Roadtrip Nation is they provide the resources, support and guidance to figure that out for yourself. All I can say is do two things: (1) buy their Roadmap book, and (2) go get lost on their site. You won’t regret it!
