The Tzedek Social Justice Fellowship envisions a world where all people can flourish. In Hebrew “Tzedek” (pronounced “tz” as in ritz, TZEH-dek) means justice, which is at the heart of our mission. The Tzedek Social Justice Fellowship is an eleven month opportunity for emerging social justice leaders. The in-depth training the Fellowship provides is complimented by a position working at a social justice nonprofit in Asheville, NC. This unique model empowers Fellows to grow as activists and leaders while building capacity at vital social justice organizations working in the areas of LGBTQ Rights, Racial Equity, and Combating Anti-Semitism.
More than a job, this Fellowship is a commitment to actively creating personal and community change. At Tzedek, we ask Fellows: Who do you want to be? How can we help you get there?
We believe in the notion of radical welcome—for everyone to have a place at the table to grow, evolve, and transform. Fellows define their vision for themselves, and we support them through personal and professional goal setting, critical analysis, training, mentorship, self care, resiliency, and networking.

A very good friend shared this fellowship with me and I fell in love with it reading more about the purpose behind it. I’ve been a big advocate of the power of locally-focused fellowships that give young people the opportunity to dedicate a year to pioneering change in a community.
