INTERNSHIPS

The Sullivan Foundation Internship Program is designed to encourage more students to participate in at least one internship prior to graduation. Valuable skills are only learned through work experience and internships are a great opportunity to help students find their professional purpose. Sullivan alumni are given an opportunity to host an intern for a summer, semester or full calendar year.

How it works:

Alumni wishing to host an intern will be directed to the alumni page of the Sullivan Foundation website. From there, alumni will be able to create a profile and provide internship opportunity information (Business name and description, timeframe, expectations, pay, etc.) to the Foundation. The Foundation staff will then be able to review and post available internships to the Sullivan Foundation’s List of Awesome. Interested students can visit the List of Awesome and apply to any internships available. It will be up to the alumni to interview and hire the student of their choice.

Expectations:

It is expected alumni willing to host interns follow the general guidelines listed below.

  • Assist the intern in developing objectives for his/her learning plan.
  • Provide the intern meaningful projects and work tasks for the duration of the internship.
  • Establish a work schedule and set appropriate deadlines for projects/work tasks.
  • Supervise, monitor and coach the intern to ensure open communication and the successful completion of tasks.
  • Provide feedback to the intern on a consistent basis and complete an evaluation at the end of the internship.

It is expected students applying for internships be mindful and respectful of all expectations set forth by the internship host and act in a professional manner at all times.
