We are a network of heart-centered investors, entrepreneurs, and social impact leaders who believe in an inclusive and socially responsible economy to address the world’s toughest challenges. Since 2008, SOCAP has created a platform where social impact leaders can connect and present their ideas to a global audience. Our annual flagship event in San Francisco is the largest conference for impact investors and social entrepreneurs and has drawn more than 10,000 people.
SOCAP started with a small group of investors determined to prove that doing good has two bottom-lines: social and financial. Now at a tipping point, impact investing has become a widely used buzzword and the driving force for the new economy.
Our mission is to create a platform where investors willing to put money into enterprises focused foremost on social return can meet the world’s most innovative entrepreneurs. SOCAP has supported more than 1,000 entrepreneurs through scholarships, mentoring and training.
We need everyone – investors, community activists, government officials, nonprofits, corporates – at the table to meet the challenges that are ahead. SOCAP has expanded to include industry-specific events like “SHARE: Catalyzing the Sharing Economy,” and “SOCAP Health: Creating the Market the Values Health” and year-round programming at multiple locations through SOCAP365.

Spud’s Thoughts:
SOCAP has been one of the top conveners over the last few years for people who are doing incredible work in the social entrepreneurship space. I haven’t had the chance to personally attend yet, but I know many friends who attend regularly and count it to be one of the more important events they attend.
