Overview:

The co.space is a creative, intentional community of 20 changemakers. United by a desire to create positive change in the world, they are home to driven undergraduate students, self-directed learners and experienced young professionals, ages 18-35, all living under one roof. The home provides innovative co-housing, a dynamic tribe, and year-long programming to support changemakers on their journey. In addition to living in the home for the entire year, co.spacers have access to 3 retreats throughout the year that offers an opportunity to deeply connect as a community. Throughout the year, co.spacers share meals together every Wednesday and Sunday and frequently invites in guest speakers to share their stories with the house.

Each co.space is lead by a team of two House Managers who oversee the logistics, programming and wellbeing within the home. Working together, and alongside the founders, the House Managers are responsible for creating a healthy and vibrant culture in the home.

These individuals should be excited about taking a year to be surrounded by a passionate tribe of changemakers and who will be capable of encouraging others on their journey. House Managers are expected to step up and lead in their own unique way, but we will provide structure and guidance with respect to systems, rules and activities we have seen to be effective in past years. Each House Manager receives free housing in exchange for their work.

Details:

  • Length: House Manager positions are for a minimum of one year beginning in the summer.
  • Apply: Applications are rolling and typically a candidate is selected between Feb – Apr each year.

Spud’s Thoughts:

I’m biased on this one because I helped create the co.space back in 2012. I lived in the home for the first two years of it being up and running and had an amazing experience. It’s rare to have the opportunity to live so intimately with others who are hungry for change. On the days you feel depressed, confused or exhausted – there are others there to comfort you. On the days you are excited and energized to launch a project – there are others there to join you on your project. It’s an incredibly collaborative and loving space!
